I started my first business at 14: a gaming network that grew to 10,000 members and 40 staff, all of it coded from a bedroom. I was managing people I had never met, most of them older than me, and I got nearly all of it wrong the first time. It made money before I was old enough to open a business bank account.

Then I spent a few years being confident about things that turned out not to be true. I studied business, started an investment group at university, and was fairly sure I was going to be an investment banker. I went into consulting instead, where I spent a year writing slides about what other people should do. Good education in how large companies actually work, and a fast way to find out I did not want to spend my twenties recommending things. Somewhere in the middle of all that I tried to start a perfume brand, which went about as well as you would expect.

Then I found startups, and co-founded Throxy: AI agents that take the repetitive work out of B2B sales. Three of us around a kitchen table, then YC, then an office and a team across two continents. I ran product and operations and taught myself to build, which for two years mostly meant shipping things slightly worse than I wanted them to be.

Talking to as many operators as I can about the problems AI should have solved by now and hasn't, before committing to one.
